OMAR VOICE – Arabic Speech Data & Recording Services

OMAR VOICE is an independent, London-based Arabic speech data and voice recording initiative specialising in Libyan Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).

Founded by a native Libyan Arabic speaker, the initiative focuses on producing authentic Arabic speech recordings for artificial intelligence, automatic speech recognition (ASR), natural language processing (NLP), linguistic research, and speech technology development.

Our Services

Libyan Arabic recordings: Natural speech and scripted recordings in authentic Libyan Arabic.

Modern Standard Arabic: Clear, structured speech recordings for research and language technology applications.

Custom speech datasets: New recordings produced according to client-provided scripts, topics, linguistic requirements, and technical specifications.

Data collection projects: Small pilot collections and potentially larger projects, subject to agreed resources and requirements.

Transcription and metadata: Available for discussion depending on project requirements.

Current Work

Our initial collection consists of 20 original Arabic voice recordings demonstrating the speaker's linguistic and vocal capabilities.

These recordings were created using a smartphone as an initial pilot. For commissioned projects requiring higher recording standards, suitable professional equipment can be arranged according to the agreed specifications.

Our Goal

Our goal is to contribute authentic, underrepresented Libyan Arabic speech data to the AI research community while developing high-quality, responsibly produced Arabic speech resources.
