My manifesto. I have a dream: to build the cooperatively owned, distributed, decentralized treasure trove, DUAL books Sampo* (OpenEuropeBooks™, œBœks™) to stop book vanishing from libraries due to control of books digitization by Big Tech.

The books re-creators**, prosumers (User2) would via our app*

copy (scan) a rare book by smartphone (including copyrighted, orphan books), from a public or academic library "near home", and Person-to-Person share the scan, when queried by a person (User1) from a foreign EU MS, where the needed book is not available

then User1 orders book's printed version*** via our start-up's app*, adjusting the book's scan file transformation to the formats of his/her private use / need and becomes this (rare) Book's DUAL Guardian.

The book becomes DUAL (IndiviDUAL, œBœk™): both as a unique printed copy (Book-of-One**) at home of User1, and as its immutable digital twin at the Sampo's* dispersed cloud (for hashtag#CulturalHeritagePreservation), with its hashtag owned by User1, at her phone's edge.

Millions book lovers have more resources for book digitizing than all EU libraries

• hence for the massive books' Cultural Heritage preservation,

• and receive THREE products by ONE price (paper*** + digital + T2S audio), which is half or less of ONE product's price (paper OR digital OR audio) from Amazon or from a book publisher / platform / vendor.

Because our solution eliminates intermediaries, but ensures author royalties paid every time a book is scanned at a public library (see scanning instruction here*).

DUAL Book Guardians service beats any gate-keeper access to cultural heritage like Google books Project or shadow libraries.

Private use copying is exempted from copyright limitations in most of EU MSs, Large Print books for Visually Impaired, dyslexic People solve 80% of their issues.

It will stop books vanishing due to publishers' eBook licensing to libraries (hashtag#eBookSOS).
