Approximately 11 hours of read speech in Congolese Swahili (swc): 5,000 utterances covering the full Gamayun swc–French mini-kit (kit5k) sentence set, recorded in 2020–2021 by 5 voice talents on mobile phones, so that the audio matches real-world usage. Every clip is accompanied by its French source sentence and the Congolese Swahili text. The same 5,000 utterances served as the training set of the IWSLT 2021 Low-Resource Speech Translation shared task. Production and QA were carried out by CLEAR Global.

Intended Use

This audio corpus is the spoken counterpart of the Congo Swahili–French mini-kit from CLEAR Global's Gamayun Language Data Kits. The dataset was built for humanitarian language technology and released as the training portion of the IWSLT 2021 Low-Resource Speech Translation shared task. Published on Hugging Face as CLEAR-Global/Gamayun-swc-voice-minikit. Please check README.md for more information.
