The dataset consists of 500 annotated photographs of public spaces, signs, and signage, each described in the Gresik dialect of Javanese using an informal register. The photos represent locations across Gresik and Surabaya, East Java Province, Indonesia. Photos were collected from a variety of publicly accessible locations, including malls, hospitals, town squares, city parks, markets, museums, mosques, clinics, and roads.

Intended Use
This dataset is intended to support research and educational activities involving public space and signage images, particularly in image classification, object detection, visual culture analysis, and other data-driven technologies.
The dataset uses Gresik dialect Javanese in an informal register with some code-mixing with Indonesian, while foreign-language entities remain in their original form.
Photographs of public spaces, signs, and signages were collected from accessible locations in Gresik and Surabaya, East Java Province, Indonesia: including malls, hospitals, town squares, city parks, markets, museums, mosques, clinics, and roads. To ensure privacy, identifiable faces and private information appearing in the photographs were blurred.
This dataset represents public spaces and signage found in the Gresik and Surabaya areas, East Java Province, Indonesia, providing visual examples of daily environments and objects in local settings.
