Intended Use
This dataset is intended to be used for training and evaluating automatic speech recognition (ASR) models. It may also be used for applications relating to computer-aided language learning (CALL) and language or heritage revitalisation.
gv)This datasheet is for cv-corpus-25.0-2026-03-09 of the Mozilla Common Voice Scripted Speech dataset for Manx [gv - gv]. The dataset contains 6590 clips representing 10.58 hours of recorded speech (10.12 hours validated) from 9 speakers, recorded from a text corpus of 4,240 sentences.
Manx is the indgenous Celtic language of the Isle of Man, closely related to Irish and Scottish Gaelic. It has used a unique orthography from at least the seventeenth century. It is spoken by at least 2,000 speakers today (2025).

The corpus contains 4,240 sentences: 4,219 validated and 21 unvalidated (21 pending review, 0 rejected), with 265 reported for review.
The Manx orthography used today is based on the Manx orthography of the Manx Bible of 1775, and the Cregeen Dictionary of 1838, although many of the diacritcs are omitted these days.
